Andromeda WX / Calming Pot · new age / ambient

SJ Ferguson

synth

The story

Each track named for a real, documented encounter with something in the sky.

This is new age / ambient: the synth used as a way of listening rather than speaking, tuned toward UAP and the thresholds beyond it.

The recordings — “Alien Encounters”, “Extraterrestrial Meetings”, “Unknown Stars”, “Zero Gravity” — are stations on one continuous passage.

Live

Appears seldom, and only in small consecrated-feeling rooms across the UK — chapels, halls, quiet upstairs spaces. Never crowded. For intimate gatherings, enquire.

How to listen

Best heard whole, start to finish, low, in one sitting.

On the sound

It's mostly synth, close-mic'd, with the room left in.

Field notes

What this life is like

I make music about UAP and stillness, and I mean every note — but I won't pretend it's free.

Choosing quiet can look, from outside, like disappearing. Some days the calm I write about is the calm I most need myself.

If you make gentle music and feel overlooked, you are not doing it wrong. That is just the shape of it.

“Extraterrestrial Meetings” — a note

I didn't plan “Extraterrestrial Meetings”. It arrived as “extraterrestrial meetings” as a phrase before it was a record and asked to be finished.

I kept the takes that sounded like weather and cut the rest.

It isn't a message — it's company for a particular hour.

The making of “Alien Encounters”

There is a single feeling under “Alien Encounters”: “alien encounters” as a phrase before it was a record.

Each pass got quieter until only documented sightings was left.

Play it low. It was made low.

Let it pass through.

Why I keep returning to UAP

People hear new age / ambient and expect calm; underneath it, for me, it's mostly UAP.

I kept the takes that sounded like weather and cut the rest.

I hope it meets you somewhere quiet.

“Unknown Stars”, a few words

“Unknown Stars” began with documented sightings — a small thing I kept circling.

I wrote it at the synth, mostly late, mostly by deleting.

I hope it meets you somewhere quiet.

Let it pass through.

Asked & answered

What should I put this on for?
It's made for UAP and quiet attention — reading, working late, the last hour of a day. Play it low; it was made low.
Can I license this for film, TV or a project?
Yes — everything here is available for sync and licensing through the label. Use the enquiries link and tell me about the project.
Where was this recorded?
In small rooms, close-mic'd. The room is part of the sound; that's deliberate.
Is more music coming?
Yes, when it's ready and not before. New pieces appear quietly; the best way to know is to follow on your streaming service of choice.
